The main objective of this course is to ensure that those designated to respond to an incident where a potentially dangerous or environmentally damaging spillage has occurred, know the correct procedure and how to use a site spill kit correctly.
This is a very practical course, designed for the hands on delegate. The course takes delegates through a series of spill scenarios relevant to your site conditions and chemical inventory.
This course is aimed at members of a designated spill team, spill team leaders, persons likely to be involved in directing the spill team response or any member of staff who may be asked to use your spill response inventory.
At the end of the course delegates will be able to:
• Demonstrate how to use a spill kit
• Identify the correct spill kit
• Check the contents of a spill kit and when to refill it
• Understand the correct reporting procedure and who to notify
• Understand the Regulations and Legislation
• Understand when to evacuate the premises
• Relevant Legislation
• What’s in a spill kit
• Spill response
• Practical simulated exercise
• Environmental awareness
• Evacuation procedures
Of course, the needs of businesses vary and therefore we would look to develop the
package around your requirements
This course requires the kit that is used in everyday business, our trainers can work with that kit to provide a comprehensive overview.
There will be continuous assessment by the trainer over the duration of the course and a certificate will be produced upon successful completion.
