The fire extinguisher maintenance refresher course, by the professionals

This course is in line with the BAFE Certificated Fire Extinguisher Maintenance Refresher Course and is a recommendation to keep your skills, knowledge and practices up to date as techniques and trends change over a period of time. We suggest a three-year refresher period which would allow for those new techniques to be incorporated.

This training incorporates; fire extinguisher testing refresher course, fire extinguisher inspection refresher course, fire extinguisher maintenance refresher course.

Having the BAFE certification and passing the Initial course is an excellent achievement, however BAFE now have stipulated any technicians MUST get some form of refresher training within a 3-year period – even if they have been continually performing the role of a service technician.

This course is designed to fulfil essential ongoing professional development for qualified/competent extinguisher technicians.

Who Should Attend?

Anyone who has successfully completed a 4 day initial course within the last 3 years- please note it is a requirement to attend a refresher within the 3 year period.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, students will:

• Have developed a greater awareness of the hazards of fire
• Recognise the threat that fire poses to people and property
• Appreciate the needs for effective fire emergency procedures

And be able to

Distinguish between the different types of extinguishers and the fires for which they are suitable plus practical use of fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

Assessment and Certification

There will be continuous assessment by the trainer over the duration of the course and a certificate will be produced upon successful completion.

The refresher course now requires an examination to take place at the end of the course along with continuous assessment.
